Weaving cloth from cotton was prevalent in ancient India. Merchants carried them to far-off lands and introduced exquisite silk and cotton fabrics to distant civilisations. This 2,000-year-old heritage of producing cloth, continues unabated with around 3.5 million Indians engaged in handloom production!
