The heritage of Indian craft is recognized and valued across the world. This has been painstakingly created over centuries by Indian artisans who have been quietly perfecting their techniques and creating objects of unparalleled beauty. And yet, most artisans, especially from the rural and tribal areas, continue to face challenges and struggle to build a strong base of customers and receive a fair price for their products.  In its own small way, through its digital platform which can easily transcend the boundaries of language and geography, KraftKissa seeks to open up new horizons for these artisans by working directly with them.

Kraftkissa had its genesis in the keen desire of its founders to help multitudes of Indian artisans sustain themselves better and live a life of dignity. Born out of an ardent wish to support the celebrated ancient crafts of India, KraftKissa is designed to help preserve them and explore new ways of sharing the amazing wealth of the culture and traditions they represent, with the world.

KraftKissa strives to do more. While bringing you a meticulously curated selection of handcrafted objects from across India that have both aesthetic and utility values, KraftKissa attempts to provide a glimpse into the lives of the gifted but little-known artisans who have kept our culture alive through the ages. It tells the stories of these artisans, how they work, what their dreams, aspirations and challenges are and how we can collectively make a difference to their lives. Through the artisans, we learn about the art as well, as they are inseparable. This is KraftKissa’s way of paying tribute to these unsung heroes who are the heart and soul of India, her true wealth.
